members meeting 11th february 2018 the 40th anniversary area 24 annual members meeting was held today in salisbury. members gathered for a presentation of awards and celebratory rosettes in recognition of achievements throughout 2017. the bluebury trophy was presented to abigail macey for outstanding committment to her training which culminated in her winning the prestigious national young judges competition. other youngsters who trained alongside and contributed to the area 24 2nd placing in the championship were also awarded rosettes. the king family from green cottage stud had a worthwhile trip out – mum fiona won the owner bred new forest championship. son freddie was awarded the 2018 bursary to contribute to his riding tuition. daughters millie and izzy won a trophy apiece and were presented with young judges’ training rosettes. long term head girl, louise frampton won the owner bred non m & m award. janet brownlie, former area secretary, was awarded the ansty trophy in recognition of her long term support of area 24. anyone who didn’t manage to attend the amm will be able to collect their “spoils” at the spring show on march 4th at sparsholt. we look forward to your support of the area at this event. jane upton ( chairman) autumn show 2017 just a note of appreciation to everyone who supported area 24 autumn show and dressage at kingston maurward on sunday 5th november. the weather was extremely kind and we had quality entries across the board. the dressage had good entries and proved a popular addition to the show. thank you to our judges, stewards and to our secretary, louise frampton, for all the hard work that helps to ensure a successful event. thank you also to the committee who all pulled together to help the day run smoothly. jane upton former area 24 young judge we received the excellent news yesterday that willow tarrant has been accepted on the chaps ridden b panel. this is a real achievement for such a young lady. willow graciously wished to thank all those who have contributed to our young judges’ training over recent years – she said it helped her massively with the assessment. this goes to prove our youngsters are a credit to the area and that they can go on to bigger and better things in the future with help from our training. congratulations willow. jane upton wonderful results from our young judges teams 2017 area 24 sent 2 teams to the young judges competition held at malvern at the summer championship show. the teams were made up as follows m&m plaited brandon joyner tamia joyner charlotte thorne alice cobden abby macey jessica harrison rhiannon loader there were record numbers of entries this year from across the country including a team from nps scotland, there were over 40 young people aged from 10 – 25 involved and area 24 did very well. individual section results for area 24 m&m 10 – 13 years – 2 nd charlotte thorne m&m 14 – 18 years – 1 st abby macey plaited 10 – 13 years – 3 rd alice cobden (very well done alice, first year on the teams) overall m&m individual winner was abby macey overall team results 1 st nps scotland 2 nd nps area 24 – m&m team 3 rd nps area 4 overall young judges winner 2017 – abby macey area 24 very well done to all our young judges who made the effort to attend training and to those who came to the championships to do the competition, you all did very well and we look forward to seeing you all again in 2018. this is the second time in 3 years that area 24 has won the young judges competition overall and done well in the placings. we had a relatively young team compared to other areas and they have excelled themselves, they should all be very proud of themselves. we must not forget to thank our chairman, jane upton, who did the bulk of the training with the help of malcom fry and elizabeth dean who also gave up their time to help teach at evening training sessions. also thank you to committee members who gave up their time nps area 24 annual members meeting 12th february 2017 thanks to all the area 24 members who attended the recent amm in salisbury, it was an extremely enjoyable event with representation from all corners of our locality. several of our successful young judges attended and received their awards, also members of our excellent dressage representatives were present. rosettes and trophies were awarded to numerous members for various achievements. anyone who was unable to attend the presentation will be able to collect their rosettes at one of our forthcoming events.bursaries were won by 2 of our young members which will help with payment for tuition of their choice. we hope they will benefit and that they will update us with their progress. an excellent lunch and a good catch up with fellow members was enjoyed following the meeting. good luck with all you do over the coming season and we do hope you can attend many, if not all, of our events. jane upton (chairman) george ellis regretfully we have to share the sad news that george ellis, renowned veterinary surgeon from blandford, dorset has passed away. he was a charming gentleman, who, along with his wife eileen shared a passion for new forest ponies. they have bred several prize winners under the prefix of canford. we, the nps area 24, send our condolences to his family. ** young judges 2016 triumph at nps summer championship** area 24 young judges were once again very successful in the finals held at malvern on the 1st of august. our 2 teams consisting of courtenay sandison, brandon joyner , abigail macey and jade ripper (m&m team) won their section with abigail macey winning her 10-13 category and brandon joyner and courtenay sandison coming 3rd in their 2 age group sections. isobella kirk, charlotte thorne, amber ripper and faith wood made up our plaited team and also won their section with charlotte thorne winning her age section, isobella kirk coming 2nd in her section and faith wood 3rd in her age section. with a win in both sections it meant that area 24 were the overall winners for 2016 !!! a massive well done to the teams and to all the committee members, yard owners and judges who helped to train them ** summer show 22nd may ** ** entries open for today also ** due to some competitors having queries about the online system we have extended the entries to include today, the most common queries are where to enter the breed society number for the pony. please go to your pony details and click add number, then from the drop down menu select breed soc and enter your ponys registration number there. the second query seems to be about getting members rates, please see your details on the first page as you log into entrymaster you will see a box on the right with your personal details, again click add number and choose nps area 24 from the drop down menu, no membership number needed. just save changes and you will be charged the members rates for entry. we hope
